LAKE TAHOE AUTUMN (D. Trimmer) Tetraploid (Seedlings involving SENSE OF WONDER) 28” Late Re. Ev.6 ½” The orange, red and pink face of this intensely ruffled round full-formed cultivar reminds me of autumns from my time in the northeast, and especially of a poster I saw of the Lake Tahoe area in the fall. Since this is my first late blooming introduction in quite some time I wanted a special name and my friend, Jeff Corbett, helped me to select this offering. Two lateral branches support about 18-20 blooms with immediate rebloom in our garden. Another cultivar that I believe is fertile both ways, but having missed last year’s bloom season I cannot say for sure. |
