SAILING (Dan Trimmer) Tetraploid (Sdlg. X Unknown) 30” 8” EM Re. Ev. 20 buds, fragrant. Is probably another baby out of Great Blue Heron X Florence Denny, the breeding tag was lost at lining out time a year ago. Listed at 8 inches last year, our friend Paul Limmer visited the garden and asked what is that (9 ½ inch) thing over there pointing to SAILING. We told Paul that early blooms, especially for quite large flowers can be exceedingly big, but for the most part we have 8” flowers. Some pods, but great pollen, SAILING was used greatly in crosses last year. This round ruffled ivory cream with the blue eye and double blue and gold edge is fragrant.
