MIDNIGHT HOUR (Norman Hughes) Diploid 36” 8 1/2” ML Re. Dormant (Star of Bethlehem x Emerald Starburst) Two yeas ago when I visited my friend Norman in Pennsylvania I was extremely taken by two diploids he had growing. We decided to try and convert both of them and when untreated plants bloomed this year in my garden I asked Norman if I could introduce both MIDNIGHT HOUR and its sibling PIRATE QUEEN as they are both just wonderful with fine plant habit and grand faces. Fertile both ways we can't wait to use them in our tetraploid programs next year (fingers crossed.) MIDNIGHT HOUR has four lateral branches and 24 buds on recurrent scapes. |
