OPENING DAY (D. Trimmer) Tetraploid 32” 5” EE Re. Ev. (Sdlg. X Pearl Diver) OPENING DAY since its maiden bloom has been by far the first cultivar to bloom each spring. In fact, it has been the first by more than a month, and we're anxious to see if this continues as she blooms north of us in the coming years. The pod fertile round pale peach pink blooms are highlighted by a bright green throat and pale halo.  Four lateral branches hold 20-25 buds. Later in the season the base color changes to a icy pale lavender pink.
