PURPLE PETTICOATS

PURPLE PETTICOATS (Dan Trimmer) Tetraploid (Dakar x Matthew Kaskel Seedling) 30" EM Re.Ev. 5 ½" From a cross of two purple parents I expected a purple offspring, but I certainly did not expect the rather consistent effect of white ruffling showing foward from the rear of the petals. On some plants this effect is rather constant on others less so. This is probably a weather related factor, yet the white “angel wings” appear in many of the offspring so this seems to be a rather dominant genetic trait. The base color is described differently by many people. It is a blend of grape, deep purple and lavender. PURPLE PETTICOATS looks like nothing else in my garden.
